Frank M. Calo

Frank M. Calo is an independent New York film producer and director. His picture THE BELIEVER starring Billy Zane and Theresa Russell won the Grand Jury prize for best picture of the year at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival. He has worked with such actors as Robert DeNiro (GODSEND), Demi Moore (NOW AND THEN) Julia Styles & Martha Coolidge (THE PRINCE AND THE FRESHMAN), Shelly Winters (LA BOMBA) Madonna (MTV) Mike Meyers (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE) to name a few. He shot a wonderful comedy this past summer for Lion’s Gate Films starring Queen Latifah and Danny Glover called (THE COOKOUT). As a film teacher he has taught actors & directors throughout New York City, Columbia University and The International Film and Television workshops in Rockport Maine. He was just honored this past spring for the “wave of excellence award” at the Garden State Film Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey. His focus is always on the craft, the creative process and the realities of the industry.
